David Russell Teets Sr.

David Russell Teets Sr., 86, of Speaker Township passed away with family by his side on Wednesday, December 24, 2025.
David was born July 31, 1939, in Detroit to the late Russell and Delphine (nee Latimer) Teets.
He married Nancy Smith on Saturday, September 28, 1963, in Detroit. They enjoyed 54 loving years together until Nancy's passing in 2017.
David served in the United States Navy for 5 years as a sonar engineer aboard the USS Hammerberg. He later worked in the cable tv industry ensuring that cable connection was dispersed correctly throughout various apartment buildings. He worked at The Silverdome making sure all club boxes had cable properly installed. He also traveled to Saudi Arabia twice for his cable expertise. He loved technology and kept up on all the changes through the years. He took great pride in maintaining his yard and was a hobby farmer for many years. He served as youth group leader, along side his wife Nancy, at Trinity Missionary Church. Every teen under their leadership and guidance felt they were an "adopted" member of the family. David and Nancy later attended Bethel Missionary Church together. Because of their deep faith and love of Jesus, their home was well known as a warm and welcoming place for anyone in need. There was nothing that brought David more pride than being surrounded by the joy and love of his family.
David is survived by his children, David Teets Jr, Marty (Ron) Silverthorn, Pam (Roy) Davis, Cindy (Dan) Rhein and Dawn (Kyle) Huff; grandchildren, David (Rachel) III, Maria, Maggie, Jessica, Jon (Anna), Megan (Lorenzo), Miranda (Austin), Lucas, Samantha, Matthew, Gwendolynn, Grace, Christian and Annabell; great grandchildren, Eden, Russell, Dean, William, Sophia, Elena, Adaline, Jack, Eloise and Everett; siblings, Barbara Winters and Jerry (Linda) Teets; niece and nephew Jerry (Kathleen) Teets and Sherry Teets.
The family honors the memory of David and invites you to visit and share memories Sunday, December 28, 2025 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Kaatz Funeral Directors, Yale. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, December 29, 2025 with 10:00 a.m. visiting. Burial will be in Speaker Township Cemetery, Speaker Township.
Memorials are suggested to Bethel Missionary Church, Roseburg.
