Michael Barber Obituary
He was born July 26, 1952, in Port Huron, the son of Merle and Donna (Smith) Barber.
His marriage to Carolyn Emerson was September 16, 1978, in Warren.
Michael worked as an automotive mechanic for the City of Detroit buses and as a heavy-duty mechanic for Big Boy Restaurants. He was an N.I.A.S.E. Certified Mechanic and retired in 2015 from the City of Royal Oak. He also worked as an AMSOIL dealer and was recognized as a Top Sales Associate. He loved watching the National Hot Rod Association drag racing and even raced his motorcycle and hot rods. Michael collected antique toys and comic books and loved his dogs, Sophie and Bella, more than anything. In 2019, Michael and Carol purchased their log home and enjoyed their time living in it very much.
Surviving in addition to his wife, Carolyn, of 47 years are two daughters, Jennifer Barber and Michelle Barber; a grandson, Dalton Cleland; and his father, Merle Barber.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Donna Barber.
At this time there are no services for Michael. The family has entrusted cremation arrangements to Kaatz Funeral Directors, Yale.
