Obituary published on Legacy.com by Criswell Funeral Home - Ada on Feb. 17, 2026.
Graveside services for Hiram Blaine Walters, 86, of Ada will be 1:00 p.m. Thursday, February 19, 2026, at Rosedale Cemetery; Rev. David Gray will officiate. The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 p.m. on Wednesday at Criswell Funeral Home.
Blaine was born May 26, 1939, in Henryetta to Jesse Blaine and Stella Mae Brown Walters.
Blaine was a devoted husband, loving father, proud grandfather, trusted friend, and a man whose quiet strength and steady love shaped the lives of everyone around him.
On December 1, 1959, he married Linda Jane Sarrett in
Okmulgee, OK. For 66 beautiful years, Blaine and his beloved wife Janie built a life together rooted in commitment, laughter, and unwavering partnership. Their love story began in the most wonderful way - roller skating in their younger years. It was there, gliding side by side, that a journey began that would last more than six decades. What a gift that kind of love is. What a legacy it leaves.
Blaine found joy in life's simple pleasures. He loved reading, getting lost in history, solving crossword puzzles, fishing on peaceful days, and cooking meals that brought everyone together. He had a special appreciation for vintage cars - admiring the craftsmanship and stories behind each one. He believed in learning, in curiosity, and in keeping his mind sharp and his hands busy.
Family meant everything to Blaine. Summer vacations were treasured times - adventures to the Grand Canyon, California, Yellowstone, and throughout the western states. Those trips weren't just vacations; they were memory-making journeys filled with laughter, discovery, and togetherness. His family will forever carry those moments with them.
Blaine worked hard throughout his life, including his years as a travel salesman. His dedication and integrity earned him multiple awards as a top salesman - including a well-deserved trip to Hawaii. But more important than any award was the way he conducted himself: with honesty, persistence, and pride in doing a job well.
Above all, Blaine was a caregiver. He cared for his wife Janie with deep devotion. He cared for his daughters with steady guidance and unconditional love. He cared for his mother with respect and gratitude. And yes, he even lovingly cared for his cats. Taking care of others wasn't something he had to think about - it was simply who he was.
Blaine showed us that greatness isn't always loud. It's found in faithfulness. In showing up. In staying committed. In loving well for a lifetime.
As we say goodbye, we hold onto the example he set - a life marked by loyalty, kindness, hard work, curiosity, and love. Sixty-six years of marriage. A lifetime of memories. A heart that gave more than it ever asked for in return.
Blaine will be deeply missed, but the love he gave will continue on - in his family, in the stories we share, and in the quiet moments when we remember his steady presence beside us.
May we honor him by loving as faithfully as he did.
