Steve Linton Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Phillips Funeral Service on Mar. 19, 2026.
Steve A. Linton, 73, of Ada, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully on March 14, 2026.
He was born on November 29, 1952, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, to Troy and Rose Linton. Steve grew up in the Calvin, Oklahoma area, where he spent much of his youth alongside his brother, Gary, and his cousins, including Gene Linton, forming lifelong memories and close family bonds. He was preceded in death by his wife, Elaine Linton; his parents, Troy and Rose Linton; his older brother, Gary Linton; his cousins, Sue Linton Green and Edwina Fowler; and many other family members.
Steve graduated from Calvin High School in 1971. On September 1, 1972, he married Elaine Bridges, and together they built a loving home in Ada, raising their family and sharing life's joys.
Steve dedicated 27 years to the Seminole OG&E plant, working his way from janitor to control room operator. He took pride in his work and in providing a steady life for his family.
Above all else, Steve was a family man. He found his greatest happiness in being a husband, father, and especially a grandfather. Time spent with his family-whether telling stories, celebrating holidays, or simply enjoying each other's company-meant everything to him.
He had a lifelong love of history, particularly World War II, and could often be found sharing stories and insights with anyone willing to listen. He also enjoyed fishing and had a deep appreciation for firearms and the history behind them.
Steve is survived by his sons, Brad Linton and wife Harmoni of Ada, and John Linton of Ada; his grandsons, Troy and Trevor Linton, also of Ada; and his cousin Gene Linton and wife Glenda, their sons, Wes Linton and daughter Lyric of Ada, and Rus Linton and daughter River of Ada. He is also remembered by extended family and many friends whose lives he touched.
He will be remembered for his steady presence, strong work ethic, love of history, and unwavering dedication to his family. His legacy lives on in the lives of those who knew and loved him.
Graveside services will be 11:00am on Friday, March 27, 2026 at Non Cemetery.
