Blake Olden Medlock, 52, of Hardy, Arkansas passed away Wednesday, December 3, 2025 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born May 22, 1973 in Jonesboro, Arkansas to L.F. and Gail Medlock. Blake was preceded in death by his mother.
He is survived by his father; his wife, Mary; a son, Brendan; a daughter and son-in-law, Kirsten and Addison McIntosh; two sisters, Jenelle Leis (James) and Reba Johnson (Mike); many other relatives and a multitude of great friends.
Blake was "one of the good ones" with his respect for people in all walks of life. He was a Christian who lived his faith. Blake was a volunteer fireman in Hardy, a passionate teacher and coach at Highland High School where he started the Cross Country program and was later named District Coach of the Year, and an active member of the Rebel Booster Club; he promoted education in all forms. After attending Harding University, he ultimately achieved a Masters Degree from Arkansas State University. Currently he was working as Dean of Students at HHS where he had graduated in 1991.
Visitation of family and friends will be at the Hardy United Methodist Church from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. Sunday, December 7.
Funeral services will begin at 2 p.m. Monday, December 8 in the A.L. Hutson Memorial Center at Highland, Arkansas. Burial will be private.
Pallbearers will include Joey Hall, Brian Keen, Bryan Buchanan, Marty Ninemire, and Marty Goodwin.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Kyle & Kendal Lute, Jordan, Jarrett, & Jace Powell.
In lieu of flowers, donations are encouraged to the Blake Medlock Memorial Scholarship Fund at any FNBC location.
