Blake Christopher Persons

Blake Christopher Persons, age 24, of Spring Grove, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, August 24, 2025. Blake was born on Wednesday, February 14, 2001, to Christopher and Heather (Potter) Persons. Following Blake's graduation from Richmond-Burton Community High School in 2019, Blake pursued a career as a crane operator, working first with Knoll Steel in Spring Grove and most recently with Skyline Crane in Hebron. His excellent work ethic and dedication were immediately recognized by those around him as qualities not commonly found in someone his age. Blake enjoyed simple pleasures-the company of good friends, time with his family, and operating his crane.

Outside of his career, Blake loved snowmobiling in Michigan's Upper Peninsula, along with boating and fishing. Winter was his favorite season, and he embraced every opportunity to enjoy it, whether it was snowmobiling to school or saving up every vacation day waiting for it to snow and head up north. Blake was known as a kindhearted young man, always ready to lend a hand to anyone in need. His greatest joy was the time he shared with his best friend-his dad. Their bond was undeniably special and rare to anyone who knew them. Together, they enjoyed countless adventures and created memories on the water and on the snow trails that will be cherished forever.

Blake loved his mother totally and purely. She was always his first call for everything good, everything bad, and everything in between. He knew her love was 100% unconditional. Their relationship was one full of laughter and simple, precious moments that will be dearly missed. Blake had his mother's heart, and the kindness we all knew him for came directly from her.

Blake was the ideal "Big Brother" to Amelia. Even though they were four years apart in age, they were very close. He supported her in every journey she has had on her life's path so far, always cheering her on at every concert, every performance she was in. Blake always encouraged Amelia to follow her dreams, especially when it came to her aspirations regarding her education. Blake was Amelia's biggest fan and would often tell her in a lighthearted and loving way, "You are the smart one." He was always proud and protective of her.

Survived by his loving parents, Christopher and Heather; sister, Amelia Persons; maternal grandparents, Lee (Beverly) Potter; paternal grandmother, Christine Persons; aunts, Tracy (David) Bourdeau, Amanda (Jack) Persons; uncle, Brian (Betty) Potter; great-uncle, David Persons; cousins, Jenna, Jacob, Noah, Stella.

Preceded by his paternal grandfather, Lee Persons.

No formal Services will be held to honor Blake's wishes.

Family and friends are invited to gather for a Celebration of Life on Wednesday, September 3, 2025, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Rusty Nail Saloon, 4520 Ringwood Rd, Ringwood, IL. Dress casually, jeans and Carhartt encouraged.

Blake will be remembered for his caring heart, his beaming smile, and the joy he brought to everyone who knew him. His memory will live on forever in the hearts of his family and friends.
