Blanca Rosa Urdaneta vda. de Hernández, amada esposa, madre, abuela, bisabuela, hermana y tía, falleció en paz el 20 de agosto de 2025 en Orlando, Florida, a la edad de 93 años. Nacida el 30 de julio de 1932 en La Concepción de la Cañada, Venezuela, Blanca vivió la mayor parte de su vida en Maracaibo, donde construyó un legado basado en la familia, la resiliencia y el amor.

Se casó con el Doctor Luis II Hernández, el amor de su vida, el 26 de marzo de 1953. Juntos formaron una familia marcada por la fortaleza, la devoción y un espíritu aventurero. Aunque Luis falleció en el año 2000, sus casi cinco décadas de matrimonio estuvieron llenas de viajes, enriquecimiento cultural y la alegría de criar a sus hijos.

Blanca deja en vida a sus hijos: Edgar Luis Hernández, Blanca Luisa Hernández y Rosa María Mendoza. Fue una abuela adorada por Alejandra Sofía Hernández, Valeria Roxanna Barrios, Federico Augusto Barrios, Fabiana Sofía Ortega y Luis Miguel Hernández. También fue una orgullosa bisabuela de Sofía Elena Macey, Avianna Mía Barrios, Tatianna Aya Barrios y Jesús Alejandro Ortega. Le precedieron en la muerte su amado esposo Luis; sus hijos Néstor Luis Hernández y Sofía Luisa Hernández; y sus hermanos Octaviano II Urdaneta, Antonio Ramón Urdaneta y Néstor Luis Urdaneta.

La familia fue el pilar de la vida de Blanca. Se dedicó a cuidar y formar a sus hijos, nietos y sobrinos, compartiendo su pasión por la cultura, la educación y las tradiciones. Conocida por su calidez y sus habilidades culinarias, deleitó a sus seres queridos con su cocina y nunca dejó pasar la oportunidad de disfrutar una buena comida acompañada de un buen whisky escocés con hielo.

Blanca también tenía un espíritu vibrante y una pasión por la vida. Amante de los autos clásicos, se enorgullecía de haber tenido un Ford Mustang del 69 y un Chevy Malibu coupé del 83. Crecer junto a tres hermanos le inculcó el amor por el béisbol, la cerveza y los bolos-y una vena competitiva que la convirtió en una presencia fuerte y decidida en todos los aspectos de su vida.

Será recordada por su fortaleza, su elegancia, su sentido del humor y su inquebrantable devoción a su familia. Su legado vive en las generaciones que inspiró y en los recuerdos que dejó.

Un servicio privado en honor a la vida de Blanca se llevará a cabo el viernes 22 de agosto de 2025, de 2:00 a 2:30 PM en la Funeraria San José, ubicada en 2700 Simpson Rd, Kissimmee, FL 34744.

Blanca Rosa Urdaneta vda. Hernandez, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and aunt, passed away peacefully on August 20, 2025, in Orlando, Florida, at the age of 93. Born on July 30, 1932, in La Concepción de la Cañada, Venezuela, Blanca lived most of her life in Maracaibo, where she built a legacy rooted in family, resilience, and love.

She married Doctor Luis Hernandez II, the love of her life, on March 26, 1953. Together they raised a family marked by strength, devotion, and a spirit of adventure. Though Luis preceded her in death in 2000, their nearly five decades of marriage were filled with travel, cultural enrichment, and the joy of raising their children.

Blanca is survived by her children: Edgar Luis Hernandez (age 70), Blanca Luisa Hernandez (age 63), and Rosa Maria Mendoza (age 59). She was the cherished grandmother of Alejandra Sofia Hernandez, Valeria Roxanna Barrios, Federico Augusto Barrios, Fabiana Sofia Ortega, and Luis Miguel Hernandez. She was also the proud great-grandmother of Sofia Elena Macey, Avianna Mia Barrios, Tatianna Aya Barrios, and Jesus Alejandro Ortega. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Luis; her children, Nestor Luis Hernandez and Sofia Luisa Hernandez; and her brothers, Octaviano Urdaneta II, Antonio Ramon Urdaneta, and Nestor Luis Urdaneta.

Family was the cornerstone of Blanca's life. She dedicated herself to nurturing her children, grandchildren, nieces, and nephews, sharing her passion for culture, education, and tradition. Known for her warmth and her culinary skills, she delighted loved ones with her cooking and never passed up the chance to savor a fine meal accompanied by a good whiskey or scotch on ice.

Blanca also had a vibrant spirit and zest for life. A lover of classic cars, she proudly owned a '69 Mustang and an '83 Chevy Malibu coupe. Growing up with three brothers instilled in her a love for baseball, beer, and bowling-and a competitive streak that made her a fierce and determined presence in every aspect of life.

She will be remembered for her strength, her elegance, her sense of humor, and her unwavering devotion to her family. Her legacy lives on in the generations she inspired and the memories she created.

A private service to honor Blanca's life will be held on Friday, August 22, 2025, from 2:00 to 2:30 PM at Funeraria San Jose, 2700 Simpson Rd, Kissimmee, FL 34744.
