Blanche I. Haynes, age 103, of Conrad, Iowa passed away on Friday, February 20, 2026, at Oakview Nursing Home.
Family and friends are invited to attend a graveside service on Wednesday, February 25, 2026, starting at 10:00 A.M. at the LeGrand Friends Cemetery in LeGrand, Iowa. Blanche Isabelle (Himes) Haynes was born on May 19, 1922, in Marshalltown, Iowa at the Deaconess Hospital. She was the daughter of David M. and Pearl (Elliot) Himes. Blanche attended Marshalltown High School and graduated with the class of 1939. On April 5, 1942, she married the love of her life Roger Myron Haynes in Princeton, MO. and from this union, their three children were born: Bonnie, Rollie, and Laura. They both moved to a farm near LeGrand and called it home. After raising her children and being a housewife, Blanche decided to join the workforce. Most of her working career she was dedicated to serving others. Blanche was a friendly waitress at both, the Shady Oaks Café and the Pancake House. She also worked as a cashier at a local supermarket in Minnesota. Blanche was a proud member of The Order of the Eastern Star (OES). In her free time, she loved spending time with her family, fishing, going to cookouts, and enjoying the outdoors.
Blanche is survived by her children: Rollie Haynes and Laura Harris; her seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; two great- great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her husband Roger Haynes; her daughter Bonnie Nelson; her great grandson Ryan Harris; her parents: David and Pearl; and her siblings: Lauren, Sharon, Jean and Pearl.
