Bob Benjamin Barrett, 80, of Maryville, IL, peacefully passed away on Sunday morning, January 25, 2026, at his residence with his wife, Diane by his side.

Bob was born on December 28, 1945, in Long Beach, CA, to the late Beryl and Ramona (née Thompson) Barrett.

On February 14, 1992, he married the love of his life, Diane Divine/Stucker, on Catalina Island, CA. She survives and was his devoted wife and partner.

Bob retired from Bank of America after 33 years of distinguished service, culminating his career as a Senior Vice President.

A tall man of commanding presence, Bob's charisma naturally filled a room. He believed the best about people, and when he spoke, others liked to listen.

Competitive by nature, he enjoyed basketball, tennis and golf. He was also a devoted Oklahoma Sooners (OU) fan and followed his team enthusiastically.

Bob proudly served his country in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War as a navigator on a destroyer.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Diane Barrett; his daughter and son-in-law, Brooke & Skip Larkin; his son, Chad Divine; five wonderful grandchildren, Barrett Jake & Sean Larkin, Avery & Jude Divine.

Visitation and Rosary will be held from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 29, 2026 at Barry Wilson Funeral Home in Maryville.

A Requiem Mass will be said at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 30, 2026 at the funeral home. Burial with military honors will follow at Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Edwardsville, IL.

Memorials/donations are suggested to "Mama's House", a place that helps pregnant mothers who have no place to turn to and no place to live.
