Daniel Earl Barrett, fondly known as Danny, was born on September 17, 1959, in Greenwood, South Carolina. He passed away on February 25, 2026, in Pendleton, South Carolina, after a courageous battle with cancer that began in 2019. He was a devoted project manager at a security company, where he applied his skills with an intelligence that characterized both his professional and personal life.

As a loving individual, Danny had a unique ability to bring joy to those around him. He was kind, funny, friendly, thoughtful, and generous, embodying the qualities of a man who valued family and friendships deeply. Danny cherished his time spent with loved ones, whether it was during family gatherings or in quiet moments spent enjoying the great outdoors. He had a passion for hunting, fishing, and traveling, which often took him on adventures that he relished sharing with his family.

His strength and determination were shown in various aspects of his life, particularly through his resilient fight against cancer for seven long years. This battle showcased his unwavering spirit, and faith in God.

Danny will be remembered not only for his professional achievements but more so for the loving relationships he nurtured and the laughter he shared. He leaves behind a legacy of kindness, resilience, and an enduring love for his family. He will be greatly missed by all who were fortunate enough to know him.

He is survived by his loving wife, Donna Barrett; his children, Blake Barrett and Jennifer (Trey) Grogan; his brother, Robbie Smith; his sister-in-law, Jill Spearman; and his beloved grandchildren, Witt and Eliza Grogan. He is also mourned by his mother, Sylvia Marie Padgett.

Preceding him in death were his father, William "Tinker" Barrett, his brother, Greg Barrett, and his sister, DeeDee McClain. His memory will continue to inspire those he leaves behind, reminding them of the love and joy he brought into their lives.
