Bob Hill passed away peacefully on October 23, 2025 at the Carrier Mills Nursing and Rehab in Carrier Mills. Born in Harrisburg, Illinois, Bob was a man whose generous spirit and steadfast work ethic were evident to all who knew him. A devoted Christian, Bob's deep faith was nurtured within the communities of Macedonia Baptist Church and Eddyville Baptist Church, where he attended faithfully.
Bob Hill was preceded in death by the love of his life, his wife Brenda Lane Hill, his father Bill Hill, mother Marie Gulley Hill, sister Jean Dudley, and brother Jerry Hill. He is survived by his loving sons Chad Hill and Brad Hill, who were the pride of his life, as well as his dear sister Shirley Graham.
Throughout his life, Bob was a pillar of strength and reliability, both at home and at work. He spent many years serving with commitment at the Sahara Coal Company and later retiring from the Brushy Creek Mining Company. Bob's dedication to his career was matched only by his devotion to his family, and his legacy will continue in the lessons he taught and the love he gave.
Bob's life was one of quiet generosity, unwavering loyalty, and constant love. Those who had the privilege to know him will remember his gentle demeanor, his warm smile, and his ability to make everyone around him feel valued. His life was a testament to the values he held dear - hard work, faith, and family.
Graveside services for Bob Hill will be 1:00 PM Tuesday October 28, 2025 at the Ingram Hill Cemetery with his son Rev. Brad Hill officiating. those who wish to attend are asked to go directly to the cemetery. The J. M. Weirauch Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
