Bob Kuhn Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Bayliff & Son Funeral Home, Inc. - Cridersville on Feb. 22, 2026.
Robert E. 'Bob' Kuhn, age 78 of Lima, passed at 10:10 a.m., Friday, February 20, 2026 at St. Rita's Mercy Health, Lima. He was born August 17, 1947 in Columbus, Franklin County, Ohio to the late Fred William and Mary Louise Dempsey Kuhn.

Bob met his wife, Angie, and her son, Jason, in what he lovingly called a "package deal." From the very beginning, he embraced them both with his whole heart. Bob fell deeply in love with the woman who would become the love of his life, Angelia L. Kirkhoff, and in June 1979, they were married, beginning a lifelong journey together. Their love reflected in "I Blessed the Day I Found You," a song that became a true expression of how Bob felt about Angie.

Bob was a devoted member of St. Charles Catholic Church and a proud member of V.F.W. Post 8445 of Wapakoneta. In his younger years, he owned and operated the Disco Light Company. He liked to get out on the dance floor and share a laugh.

He cherished time spent boating with his family at Indian Lake and was an avid football fan, especially when cheering on the Ohio State Buckeyes. Bob found joy in the simple pleasures of life - working in his yard, being outdoors, and especially sitting and swinging on the porch with his grandchildren. He loved teasing them, always ready with a witty remark or playful comment just to get a rise out of them, followed by that unmistakable smile.

Bob looked forward each year to traveling to Florida for the month of January and treasured family trips to Gatlinburg, Tennessee. No matter where he was, his greatest happiness came from being surrounded by those he loved.

A man of deep faith, strong values, and steady example, Bob lived his life with kindness, consideration, and care for others. His wife and family were always his top priority. He was truly the best husband, dad, grandpa, and family man.

Also surviving is a daughter – Jennifer Nicole (Heather) Kuhn of Lima; a daughter-in-law – Christina (Gage) Maidon of Lafayette; 8 grandchildren – Katlyn (Tyler) Park; Miah (Trever Wynkoop) Binkley; Dylan Binkley; Kristofer Morman; Jace Kuhn; Alexandria Kuhn; Jaxyn Kuhn;Relyk Kuhn; 3 great grandchildren- Liberty Park; Trinity Park; Knox Wynkoop; a brother – Thomas (Kathy) Kuhn of Reynoldsburg; a sister-in-law – Nancy Kuhn of Powell; sisters-in-law – Nancy (Andrew) Gabel of Spencerville; Peggy (Tim) Wood of Bath; Robin (Chris) Rex of Shawnee; half sister-in-law – Pam (Dean) Edwards of Bath; many nieces, nephews, great nieces, nephews, and his Columbus Cousins that he loved very much.

He was preceded in death by his son – Jason Michael Binkley who died August 9, 2009; a brother – Fred Kuhn; his in-laws – Wayne and Helen Kirkhoff; and a brother-in-law – Michael Kirkhoff.

A memorial service will begin 10:30 a.m., Saturday, February 28, 2026 at Bayliff & Son Funeral Home, Cridersville. Father Kent Kaufman will officiate. Entombment will follow in Gethsemani Cemetery, Lima.

The family will receive friends from 3:00 – 7:00 p.m., Friday, February 27 at Bayliff & Son Funeral Home, Cridersville.

Memorial contributions may be made to Wounded Warriors or Tunnel to Towers.

Bob's family would like to extend a special thank you to all those who compassionately cared for him - the dedicated nurses at Fresenius Clinic, Dr. Jonah Ukewi, and the hundreds of nurses and doctors on staff at St. Rita's Medical Center and its hospice team.
