Bob Smith Obituary

Visit the Martenson Family of Funeral Homes, Inc. - Allen Park Chapel website to view the full obituary.
Robert Earl Smith, affectionately known as Bob was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He left this world too soon at the age of 59 on August 12th, 2023.
Born to Dan and Leona Smith on December 3rd 1963. Bob was an avid hockey player growing up and was famous for his wicked slap shot from the blue line. After his playing career he quickly pursued his career as a master plumber/pipe fitter and achieving his associates degree in business along the way. After operating his own business for multiples decades he decided to accept a position at Ford Motor Co as a master plumber/pipe fitter.
Bob loved to spend his time being surrounded by his family, that was the centerpiece of his existence. There was nothing he wouldn't do to help someone he cared about. A natural storyteller, he would brighten every room he walked into and was often the last one to leave any engagement making sure the host didn't need any help from him. Bob was an exceptional person and filled the hearts of everyone around him with love. He played the role of husband, father, brother and PaPa flawlessly, and those around him were so thankful to have been able to share this journey we call life together with him. Often referred to as the perfect human, he will forever be missed but never forgotten and will always hold a special spot in our hearts.
Memorial contributions to Can't Skate Can't Play for Special Needs Children would be appreciated by the family.
