Beverly (Groves) Pautuk died peacefully in her home at the Bellaire Senior Assisted Living Apartments in Riverview on April 3, 2025. She was 90 years old.
Beverly was born on January 3, 1935 in Detroit, Michigan. She grew up in the Detroit area and graduated from Denby High School. She went on to work at the Bank of the Commonwealth for almost 10 years. She met her husband John at a neighborhood dance and they married in 1955. They shared 55 years together, filled with travel, dancing, movie nights, and raising their four children, before his passing in 2010.
Beverly and her family moved to Trenton in 1970 where she worked for the Title I program in the Trenton School System. In her later years, you could find her at the local Meijer passing out samples or coupons to shoppers. She thoroughly enjoyed chatting with everyone she met and aiding them in locating what they needed to complete their shopping. Throughout the years, Beverly also had the pleasure of caring for many children from families in the Downriver area, delighting in the time she shared with them.
Beverly cherished the time she spent with her children, both together and one-on-one. She loved cozying up at home for movie nights, working on puzzles, dancing, or savoring a meal prepared by her son Mark, the chef of the family. Beverly also found great joy in attending plays, concerts, and sporting events, especially when her children and grandchildren were performing or playing. As she got older, some of her favorite pastimes were going for long car rides along the river and eating lunch along the waterfront in one of Downriver's many parks while watching the boats float by.
In 2021, she moved into The Bellaire Senior Living Apartments in Riverview where she made many new friends in both the other residents and the wonderful staff and caregivers that became like an extended family to her. She enjoyed all of the activities they organized for the residents, but her favorites were the Bus Trips to take in the scenery and get a sweet treat, and the live music events where she would still get up and dance even if she was the only one.
Beverly was a very kind hearted and sweet woman who never met a person she didn't like and who could make a friend out of anyone. She was a caring wife, mom, grandmother, aunt, sister, and friend. She was a beautiful person through and through and she will be truly missed by everyone who knew her.
Beverly was preceded in death by her mother Edith Kozian, Brother Donald Groves, Husband John Pautuk, Son Mark Pautuk, and Son-in-Law Michael Dye. She is survived by her Brother Larry, her Sister Sharon, her Daughter Cheryl, her Sons Scott (Christy) and Todd (Liz), her Step-daughter Cathy, her grandchildren Michaelene, Avery, and Benjamin, and her Step-Grandchildren Christopher, Kyle, Haley, Deidre, and Lavidia.
