ROMANSKI, MARCIA HELEN, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend, passed away peacefully on February 19, 2026, at the age of 81.
Born on September 15, 1944, in
Detroit, Michigan, to loving parents Vincent and Regina Romanski, Marcia grew up in a close-knit family alongside her two brothers, Jerome (Jerry) and Vincent (Vince). Marcia cherished her 7 nieces-Julie, Beth, Janice, Lynn, Cheryl, Arlene, and Joan-who all, in turn, adored their aunt and the special bond they shared with her.
A proud graduate of Denby High School in Detroit (formerly known as Denby Preparatory High School), Marcia built a long and successful career at DTE Energy, retiring after many years as a Service Planner.
Deeply proud of her Polish heritage, Marcia embraced the rich traditions passed down through her family and the vibrant Polish community in Detroit. She cherished the customs, faith, and cultural warmth that defined her roots, often finding comfort and joy in the foods, values, and sense of family that connected her to generations before her.
In her personal time, Marcia found great fulfillment in creative and nurturing pursuits. She had a genuine talent for refinishing furniture and enjoyed her endless pursuit of finding pieces to bring back to life. Marcia loved to garden, and in the warm weather, you could always find her tending her yard with care. Above all, Marcia adored her pets, namely Stasiu and Tyrone Vincent, who brought her endless joy and companionship, and she showered them with the same warmth she extended to family and friends.
Marcia was preceded in death by her parents, Vincent and Regina Romanski, and her brother Vincent (Vince) Romanski in 2020. She is survived by her brother Jerome (Pati) Romanski, along with her cherished nieces, extended family, and dear friends who will forever remember her quiet strength, generous heart, and the comfort she provided to those around her.
Though Marcia's presence will be deeply missed, the love she shared, the beauty she created, and the kindness she embodied will live on in the lives she touched. Her legacy is one of grace, creativity, unwavering devotion to those she held dear, and a quiet but profound pride in her Polish heritage.
A Memorial Gathering will take place on Friday, March 6, 2026 beginning at 9:30am in the Chapel at St. Kieran Catholic Church, 53600 Mound Road, Shelby Township, Michigan until time of Memorial Mass at 10:00am. Please join us in wearing hoop earrings to her celebration of life in honor of Marcia.
The family extends heartfelt thanks for the love and support during this time of sorrow. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Marcia's memory may be made to the Humane Society of Macomb or Shelby Township Gardeners Club, reflecting passions close to her heart.
