Bobbe Jo McDaniel

Bobbe Jo McDaniel, 73, of Grand Ledge, Michigan, passed away on March 17, 2026.

Bobbe was born in Big Rapids on November 28, 1952, and grew up in Grand Ledge where she remained deeply connected to the community throughout her life. Above all, she loved her family. She was a devoted mother to her two daughters, Tricia (Kevin) Steward and Lannie (Clifford) VanDeusen. A proud grandmother to Amanda (Austen) Livingston, Dylan (Mackenzie Williams) Steward, Emma (Brett Roth) VanDeusen, and Jolena Steward. She was also a loving great-grandmother to Addilynn Steward and Arlo Livingston.

Bobbe is survived by her companion John Jorgenson of 22 years, her sister Linda Tower and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 33 years Dale McDaniel; her parents, Bob and Jo Shepherd; and her brothers, Ron and Leonard Shepherd.

Bobbe had a way of making people smile and laugh. She was warm, caring, and genuine, bringing comfort to those around her. Much of her time was spent at Higgins Lake, with her family, on the boat and around the fire. Music touched her soul, and she appreciated sharing it with others. Bobbe will be missed deeply, but remembered for her kindness, strength, humor, and the love she had for her family and friends.

Alcoholics Anonymous was a large part of her sobriety of over the past 22 years. She believed that God put the right people in the right place at the right time, which she was thankful for. She lived by the motto of "you have to keep doing the next right thing".

A memorial will be held at the American Legion Cole-Briggs Post #48, 731 N. Clinton Street, Grand Ledge, Michigan on Friday, March 27, 2026. Family will receive visitors from 3 to 4 p.m. prior to the service starting at 4 p.m. There will be a dinner held immediately following the service.
