Bobbie Sue Dowdy (Simpkins) was born on June 26, 1956, to Robert (Bob) Lee and Betty Sue Simpkins (Cheek).
Born in Exeter and raised in Ivanhoe, Ca. She attended Ivanhoe elementary and Redwood high school where she graduated in 1974.
She married the love of her life Gene Dowdy on June 16, 1973, in Reno, Nevada. They went on to have 3 children, Donald James (D.J.), Kelli Jean, and John Edward Dowdy.
Bobbie Sue and Gene were married for 52+ years.
Bobbie Sue and Gene moved to Stockton, Mo. in 2005 and much of their family soon followed. After moving to Stockton, Bobbie worked at Nelson's Auto in Fair Play for 17 years before retiring in 2023.
She is survived by her husband Gene, her children D.J. (Danielle) Dowdy, Kelli (Bill) Davidson, and John (Jaime) Dowdy. Her grandchildren, Riley (Samantha Alvarez), Conner, and Aiden Dowdy, Shyan (Adam Walker), Kaley (Derek Shikles), Stephanie (Brice) Bird, Danielle, and Dylan Davidson, and Dewey and Taylor Dowdy, and 2 great grandchildren Genevieve Ray Bird and Sutter Lee Shikles, her brother James Lee, (Pamela, Heather, Heidi, J.R.) Simpkins, as well as countless numbers of extended and adopted family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her Father and Mother, Bob and Betty Simpkins.
Bobbie is the heart and soul of her home and family, is loved beyond words, and will be missed beyond measure.
Bobbie Sue passed unexpectedly on September 20, 2025, with her husband Gene by her side.
Services will be held Monday, September 29, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. at the Bland-Brumback funeral home located at 306 S. High St. Stockton, Mo. A viewing will be held at the same location on Sunday the 28, 2025 at 3:00 p.m.
