Obituary published on Legacy.com by Wallace & Wallace Inc Funeral Chapels & Crematory - White Sulphur Springs on Dec. 28, 2024.
Bobbie Joe Feury of White Sulphur Springs passed away peacefully, December 26, 2024, at The Peyton Hospice House in Lewisburg, WV with family members by his side.
Bobbie Joe graduated from Greenbrier East High School. While in school he worked evenings at The Greenbrier Manor as an Orderly. Also while in school, he was a member of the FFA and went to the state competition in Morgantown WV, where he won a gold medal for first place in the state, for judging dairy cattle and rightfully so, he was very proud of this accomplishment. After school he joined the WV Army National Guard and became a Radio Field Mechanic. He was honorably discharged at the rank of SP5, after 8 years of service. He liked to tell the story about how it took a literal act of congress to allow his admission into the Army National Guard, due to his restricted eye sight, but because he scored very high on the admission test, congress approved his enlistment.
Bobbie also worked for many years at The Greenbrier Hotel in the Food and Beverage Department as a Waiter. During the 80's, he owned and operated a service/gas station in Lewisburg WV, called Bobbie's Ashland. In the early 2000's he leased and operated The Central Bar and Restaurant in WSS, WV, which was one of his favorite stomping grounds.
Bobbie loved all children and always looked forward to Halloween when he could hand out candy. He loved taking his grandkids each year to WV state fair. He also loved the thrill seeking rides and continued this tradition up into his 60's.
He was preceded in his death by his parents, Ammia Feury and Alice Ruth Windon Feury. His infant brother and sister, Ammia and Ruth Feury, his brothers Wayne Feury and Gordon Lee Feury, and his sister Angela Lina Morse.
Those left to cherish his memory include daughters, Bobbie Jean Brewster of WSS, WV and Kindra Ann Hoskins of Beckley, WV. Son Joshua Joe Larkins of Caldwell, WV. His granddaughters Taylor Morgan Feury of Lewisburg, WV and Ammie Elizabeth Brewster of WSS, WV. Sister Darline Brooks (James) of Caldwell, WV and brother Harvey Feury (Lennie) of Sinks Grove WV. Also his numerous nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at Wallace and Wallace Funeral Home in WSS, WV on Monday December 30, 2024 from 5-7. The first hour is reserved for family and the second hour we will be receiving friends.
