JONESBORO - Bobbie Jean Hamilton Harrison, 87, of Jonesboro, passed from this life Tuesday, March 10, at her home with her sons by her side. A devoted Christian, loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Bobbie was the matriarch of her family. She lived a life rooted in faith, kindness, and gratitude for life's simple blessings.
She was born on Dec. 26, 1938, in Cash, to Edward and Cora Hamilton. She grew up in Bay, and in her adult years, called Jonesboro home. She was a long-time member of Nettleton church of Christ, where she was active in the ladies' group. She was a friend to all and never strayed from lending a helping hand.
Bobbie had a love for travel and cherished memories made along the way. Whether visiting new places or simply enjoying time at home, she found happiness in the simple things- being active, sharing/hosting meals, holiday decorating, gardening, and reading a good book on her sunporch.
Above all else, she treasured her family. As the heart of the family, she brought generations together with her love, strength, and grace. She took great pride in her family, which she helped to nurture and guide.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Gordon Harrison; four sisters, Marzella, Patty, Annie, and Betty; three brothers, Hiram (Hi), Bill, and Jim; and one great-grandson, Harrison Snow.
She is survived by her sons, Mark (Nancy) Harrison and Paul (Sheila) Harrison; six grandchildren, Evan (Bethania) Harrison, Hunter (Whitney) Harrison, Reese (Haley) Harrison, Brady Harrison, Ryleigh (Clayton) Snow, Erin Harrison; two great-grandchildren, Milan Harrison and Turner Snow. Who will honor her life and the example she set?
Though she will be deeply missed, her family takes comfort in knowing she is at peace and reunited with the Lord she faithfully served.
Visitation will be held today, March 12, at Gregg-Langford Bookout Funeral Home Chapel beginning at 12 p.m., with funeral services to follow at 1 p.m. with James Johnston officiating. Burial will be private.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Nettleton church of Christ in her memory.
