Lindall Ray Cooper

Lindall Ray Cooper passed away peacefully on March 6, 2026, in St. Louis, Missouri. He was born on May 28, 1947, in Campbell, Missouri.

Lindall proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. He was stationed at Scott Air Force base from 1967 to 1969 and served a tour of duty in Thailand from 1969 to 1970. He was then stationed in Port Lavaca, Texas, from 1970 to 1971, finishing his fourth year of active service there. After active duty within the Air Force, he joined the Air National Guard, where he served for 26 years.

He was raised in La Porte, Indiana, where he graduated from La Porte High School. He spent his entire career in the telecommunications industry.

Lindall was a beloved husband to his wife Sharon of Jonesboro, Arkansas, for more than 20 years. He was a faithful member of Walnut Street Baptist Church in Jonesboro.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, Lindall served his community by delivering food to food banks throughout Northeast Arkansas and directly to individuals who lived far from food distribution centers. He also helped those in need by transporting people to doctor's appointments, taking homeless individuals to shelters and running errands for those without transportation.

Lindall was also an active member of American Legion Post 21 in Jonesboro and American Legion Post 388 in O'Fallon, Missouri.

Lindall was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Robert Cooper and Alma Juanita (Brickell) Cooper; his first wife and the mother of his children, Mary Ann (Hinkebein); and his sister, Sonja Pytnia.

He is survived by his children, Kathleen, Brian, Michael (Kesha), Charles (Heather) and Bridget, all of St. Louis; his stepchildren, Allison (Nathan) Whitmire of Jonesboro and Aaron (Lori) Ward of Cabot, Arkansas; his brother, Robert Wayne (Barbara) of Palm Bay, Florida; his twin brother, Wendell Kay (Norma) of La Porte, Indiana; and his sister, Karen (Dan) Buss of Rolling Prairie, Indiana. He was also a proud grandfather to many grandchildren, Danny, Racheal, Gracie, Lionel, Liam, Mikey, Dominic, James and Mary; and step-grandchildren, Mary-Emma, Larkin, Tristan, Will and Sawyer.

Visitation will be held on March 15 from 4 to 8 p.m., with a family viewing beginning at 3 p.m. at Affton Chapel-Kutis Funeral Home on Gravois Road in St. Louis, Missouri. The funeral service will be held the following day at 11:30 a.m., followed by interment at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers and members of the American Legion posts 21 and 388 honorary pallbearers.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to organizations that support veterans.
