Bobbie Girtrude Brown Holt Pipkin was born on August 28, 1930 to Bascom and Florence Brown. She passed away peacefully at her residence in Greenville, TX. on March 31, 2023.
Bobbie, also known as Mother, “Mamo,” Aunt, Wife, Sister, and friend was a woman of many talents. From changing lawn mower blades, to mending a broken heart, she could do it all.
As a sister, Bobbie was the second of four siblings, who remained close throughout their entire lives. As a mother, she had two children with Cleo Holt, Allison Annette and Willie Dwane. She gained two more daughters, Vickie Andrew and Kathy Voss, later in life when she married GA Pipkin. Not only was she the grandmother to Jennie Potts, Chris Holt, and Michelle Bearden, she was a great grandmother as well.
Bobbie had a fulfilling career as an Electronic Technician with Texas Instruments, then advanced to Docutel, where she built one of the first ATM’s the “Docuteller.” Bobbie was able to secure her children their first job out of high school. Bobbie broke barriers for many women, as she was competing in a man’s world. She ended her career working for Raytheon in Garland, TX where she had high security clearance while building the “Black Box.”
Bobbie was the epitome of and independent, God-fearing woman. She had a passion for life which included; family, sewing, dancing, skating, riding motorcycles, cooking, and gardening. Her love was unconditional, forgiving, and without bias. “Mamo” will be greatly missed; her spirit will forever be with us.
She is survived by her children, Allison and Mike Bearden and Willie Dwane Holt; grandchildren, Jennie and Chris Potts, Chris and John Holt, and Michelle Bearden; great grandchildren, Jentry, Jolie, and Judd Potts, Natalie and Marissa Voss, and Christy Gray.
Bobbie was preceded in death by her first husband, Carver Cleo Holt, and her loving husband, GA Pipkin; parents, Florence and Bascom Brown; sisters, Cora Ann Adams and Jerry Nell Brown, and daughter, Betsy Ross Holt.
