Bobbie Sorrells Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Boone Funeral Home, Inc. - Greenville on Dec. 21, 2025.
Funeral services for Bobbie Carolyn Brown Sorrells, 85, of Greenville, will be at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 23, 2025, at Crenshaw Baptist Church in Crenshaw, MS, with Rev. Kevin Robinson officiating the services. There will be a visitation from 1:00 p.m. until the start of the service at the church. Burial will be in Longtown Cemetery in Crenshaw. She passed away on December 20, 2025. Arrangements are under the direction of Boone Funeral Home, Greenville.

Bobbie was born in Crenshaw, Mississippi, on March 1, 1940, to Ragsdale and Elma Brown. She married Dan A Sorrells in January 1963. She was a loving mother to her daughter, Dana, and son, Danny. She was fondly known as Granny by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and loved spending time with them at the cabin, where memories of love and laughter were made. Bobbie was said to maintain kindness, grace, and compassion for others throughout her life. Her family and friends were blessed by her love and devotion.

After graduating from high school, she obtained her Bachelor of Science degree in Education and a Master of Education from Delta State University. She taught at Washington School for more than 15 years before moving back to Crenshaw, where she taught at Strayhorn Elementary until she retired in 2005. She was a devoted teacher who loved to see her students learn and achieve their best. She was loved and respected by students and parents.

Bobbie loved spending time in her garden, cooking meals for others, and recently found a new love for Bingo with her friends at Magnolia Gardens. Her greatest joy was the time she spent with her family, surrounded by her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. They were richly blessed by her presence and love, and the memories with her will be cherished by them all.

Bobbie was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Wayne Brown and Charles Brown, and her husband, Dan Sorrells. Bobbie is survived by her daughter, Dana Stubbs (Rusty) of Greenville, and her son, Danny Sorrells (Melissa) of Acworth, GA. She is also survived by her six grandchildren: Courtney Dodd (Jake), Catherine Weaver (Riley), Walt Stubbs (FaithEllen), Cody Sorrells (Elly), Carson Sorrells, and Shelby Grace Sorrells. She leaves behind nine great-grandchildren who loved her dearly: John Harbard and David Dodd; Everly, Emerson, and Walker Sorrells; Vivienne and Charles Stubbs; and Wyatt and Nolan Weaver. She is also survived by one brother, Joe Brown (Joyce) of Marks, MS.

Bobbie was a member of Crenshaw Baptist Church, where she attended until moving to Greenville in recent years.

The family would like to express their gratitude to the sta f and caretakers at Magnolia Gardens for their love and devotion to Bobbie. Their kindness and concern will be remembered always by her family.
