Bobbie Elam Stephens, a cherished mother, grandmother, and friend, peacefully departed this life to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, July 12, 2025, at the Life Care Center in Morehead, Kentucky. She was 92 years old. Born on November 12, 1932, in
Grayson, Kentucky, Bobbie was the beloved daughter of the late Robert Lee and Jewell Marie Waggoner Elam. She dedicated her professional life as a secretary, where her warm spirit and diligent work ethic left a lasting impression on all who knew her. A devoted member of the Grayson Freewill Baptist Church, Bobbie was known as a prayer warrior, offering her unwavering faith and support to her family and community. Her deep love for God and her family was evident in everything she did, and she inspired those around her with her kindness and compassion. Bobbie had a passion for gardening, finding joy in planting vibrant flowers, particularly her beloved pink roses and lilies. She took great pride in nurturing her ferns, which flourished under her attentive care. Her home was a reflection of her love for nature, filled with beauty and warmth. In addition to her parents, Bobbie was preceded in death by her devoted husband of 63 years, William Earl "Bill" Stephens; her son-in-law, Jackie Lee Fleming; and her siblings, James Robert "JR" Elam, Jack Elam, Jean Grubb, and Laverne Elam. Bobbie leaves behind a loving family who will carry her memory in their hearts. She is survived by her two daughters, Brenda Kay Fleming of Grayson and Jackie Marie (Jim) Davidson of Greenville, South Carolina. She was a proud grandmother to five grandchildren: Nikki (Phillip Felty) Fleming, Eric Fleming, Tyler (Kristin) Fleming, Shea (Justin) Thompson, and Lexie (Josh Smith) Davidson. Bobbie also cherished her role as a great-grandmother to Macey Fleming; a great-great-grandmother to Kingston Fleming. She also leaves behind a special sister-in-law, Thelma Elam; and a host of extended family and friends who all mourn her passing. Funeral services will be held at 12 Noon on Friday, July 18, 2025, at the Malone Funeral Home, with Bro. Rob Baier and Bro. Caleb Wilburn officiating. Burial will follow at the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery North East. Visitation will be from 10 AM until the service hour at Malone Funeral Home.
