Paul Douglas "Doug" Huffman, age 66, of
Grayson, Kentucky, peacefully departed this life to be with his Lord and Savior, after a valiant battle with cancer on Tuesday, August 26, 2025, at the Carter Nursing and Rehab Center in Grayson. Born on September 26, 1958, in Morehead, Kentucky, Doug was the beloved son of the late William Paul and Dorothy "Jackie" Burchett Huffman. He was also preceded in death by his cherished infant sister, Glenna Jean Huffman; his paternal-grandparents, Luther and Beatrice Huffman; and his maternal- grandparents, Charles and "Lib" Burchett. .
Doug was a dedicated farmer whose love for the land and the great outdoors was evident in everything he did. His hands were often calloused from hard work, but his heart was always open, welcoming family and friends alike. Doug took great joy in feeding hummingbirds, tending to his garden, and maintaining a beautifully manicured lawn. His nurturing spirit extended to his family, as he was always eager to lend a helping hand to his mother in any way she needed.
A member of Iron Hill Church of Christ, Doug found strength and solace in his faith. He was a passionate fan of the Cincinnati Reds and an avid supporter of UK Basketball, often sharing his enthusiasm for the games with family and friends. Doug also enjoyed attending antique car shows, watching parades, and marveling at fireworks, finding joy in the simple pleasures of life.
In his quieter moments, Doug had a deep passion for working on and collecting jigsaw puzzles, a hobby that brought him both relaxation and satisfaction. His gentle nature and kind heart will be profoundly missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by his loving brother, John Huffman of Iron Hill, KY; three sisters, Kathy Huffman of Iron Hill, KY, Rhonda Greer of Wooster, OH, and Kimberly Compton of Louisa, KY. Doug's legacy continues through his nieces and nephews, Rachel (Nate) Hartzler, Neil (Kim) Callahan, Ryan (Arayah) Huffman, and Ramsey (Jenna) Compton, as well as a host of great-nieces and nephews, extended family, and friends who will deeply miss his kind spirit and gentle nature.
Funeral services to honor Doug's life will be held at 2 PM on Saturday, August 30, 2025, at the Malone Funeral Home, with Bro. Bobby Bond and Bro. Gavin Bond officiating. Burial will follow in the Huffman Cemetery, where Doug will rest among the land he loved so dearly. Visitation will be held from 1 PM until the service hour on Saturday.
