Publish in a newspaper

Constance Wechsler Curnutte, affectionately known as "Connie" and "Mamaw Nutte", age 87, of Catlettsburg, KY went home to her Heavenly Father on Aug 16,2025.

Connie was born on January 21,1938. One of 9 children who were the blessings of Chester and Gladys Benedict Wechsler. She was a proud graduate of Thomas R. Brown High School 1956 and went on to graduate Georgetown College in 1960.

For 63 years, Connie shared a faithful loving marriage to Watt T, who passed away in 2021. They built their home with Jesus as their foundation. They raised two children, Anthony T. Curnutte who passed away in 2002 and Lora Lea Curnutte Williams (Troy)of Silver Point,TN. They build a legacy of LOVE and FAITH that continues today.

Connie worked and retired from the Boyd Co. Clerks Office. She began her employment at the age of 18. This employment lasted over 50 years. She became a familiar and trusted presence, serving under many different Clerks throughout her long career. Her knowledge of Kentucky Law was an asset and a reassurance of Auto Dealers in the area who counted on her to keep them up to date and compliant with all vehicles. She also obtained the title of Kentucky Colonel.

A devoted woman of Proverbs, Connie was a faithful member of Oakland Avenue Baptist Church. She lovingly served as a Sunday School teacher, her most cherished memory was the "Young Married Class" but found unexpected joy as she served as the Nursery Director in her later years. Raising babies to know the name of JESUS,became her passion.

Connie found the most joy being in GOD's creation. That meant Gatlinburg, Tn. or a local campsite. She loved the surroundings and being in friendly company. There were no strangers with an inviting bonfire. Jesus always being the center of conversation.

Her most treasured role was that of Mamaw. She loved her grandchildren more than anything this world could offer. Lauren Curnutte. Austin, Conner Williams (Alexandria )and Ashley Williams Coulter(Tyler). These beautiful blessings stole her heart. She would give everything she had for their happiness. She also had the precious title of Great Mamaw. Grey,Deacon and Della Coulter will hear stories of her love for family and her love of GOD as they grow up.

Connie is survived by Patty Wechsler,Tally Wechsler and Lou Wechsler, her sweet Sister in Laws, and one daughter-in-law Karen Crunutte-Althoff. She was also an Aunt to many neices and nephews. She loved her big family very much and she will be truly missed.

A heavenly reunion also included her brothers and sisters; Charles Wechsler,Bill Wechsler,Paul Wechsler, Marilyn Dunbar,Betty Gosnell, Margie Edison,Cora Brown and Chestine Burns. Many friends that have gone before her, joined the celebration.

A Celebration of Life will be held at the Oakland Avenue Baptist Church in Catlettsburg,Ky. on August 24,2025 beginning at 4pm. Visitation for family and friends will be from 3-4pm. Connie will be laid to rest with her husband at the East Kentucky Veterans Cemetary on Monday August 26, at 9am.

In leiu of flowers, please send new or gently used Bibles to Oakland Avenue Baptist Church to be used for future Mission trips. She would consider this a true honor.
