It is with profound sadness we announce the sudden passing of our father Frank "Frankie" William Ball II on September 24th, 2025.
Frankie Ball was born on February 6, 1971, in Frankfurt, Germany, the cherished son of Frank William Ball I and Frances Dale Allen Ball. He was welcomed into the world on a military base while his father was serving our country during the Vietnam conflict.
Although born abroad, Frankie planted his roots firmly in the hills of Kentucky. A true country boy at heart, he found his greatest joy on the water, fishing in the quiet stillness of nature. He loved watching the Cincinnati Reds with his boys, relaxing at the beach, and sharing laughter over an ice-cold beer. Frankie was a graduate of Boyd County High School and proud member of the Steel Workers Union. He dedicated over 10 years of service with his brothers at AK Steel before moving on to work for his current employer Harbison Walker.
Frankie is survived by his parents, Frank William Ball I and Frances Dale Allen Ball, his brother Timothy Wayne Ball and his wife Geri, four children: Tyler Krystian Ball and his wife Abbigail, Cade McGuire Ball and his wife Katherine, Cooper Sky Ball, Beckham Ireland Ball, and granddaughter Lorelei Poppy Ball, as well as one bundle of joy on the way.
Frankie will be deeply missed by his family and his close friends. Frankie's memory will live on in the countless lives he touched with his easygoing spirit and love for life.
A visitation will be held on Monday, September 29, 2025, from 4pm to 7pm at Neal Funeral Home located at 2409 Center Street, Catlettsburg, Ky, followed by a funeral service beginning at 7pm with Pastor Pete Miller Officiating. A graveside committal will be held at Catlettsburg Cemetery at 11am on Tuesday, September 30, 2025, all is welcome to attend.
