A loving wife of 52 years, mother to three amazing children, grandmother to nine grandkids, and great grandmother to one, a sister, an aunt and a friend, Barbara Kay Caudill, 70 of Ashland, KY. was called home surrounded by her family on Friday, November 14, 2025.
Kay was born on September 13, 1955, in Ashland, Ky. A daughter of late Bert & Dorthy Vannatter.
Kay was well known for her home cooked meals and her contagious laughter. Everywhere that Kay went, there was a laugh to be had, and she was constantly bragging on her husband, kids and grandkids to anyone who would listen. She loved spending weekends at the campgrounds, listening to blue grass music and vacation getaways to the Great Smokey Mountains. But the reason we are all here today is because she left an everlasting touch on each and everyone of us.
Aside from her parents, she is proceeded in death by two brothers, Thomas & Walter Vannatter and two sisters Donna Shepherd & Myrna Toth.
She is survived by the love of her life, her husband, Gary Caudill, one brother Billy Vannatter and one sister Alice Merritt, Three daughters Tammy Porter and husband Keith of Grayson, KY. Krissy Zeigler and husband Tanner of New Philadelphia, Ohio and Kayla Erhard husband Justin of Massillon, Ohio, nine grandkids, Candice Allen, Jacob Porter, Cody Blair, Kylie & Caleb Weiland, Easton, Oakley & Wilson Erhard & Elijah Zeigler, and one great grandson, Jaxson Porter along with many other loved ones and many good friends.
To honor the life of Mrs. Barbara Kay Caudill, a funeral ceremony will be held Tuesday, November 18, 2025, at Neal Funeral Home, 2409 Center St., Catlettsburg, KY beginning at 12pm with Brother JC Caudill offering words of comfort to those in attendance. Visitation for friends and family will take place prior to the service from 10am to 12pm. Kay will be laid to rest in Kliaber Cemetery following the service.
