Bobby J. Aaron, 87, of Buchanan ,Virginia passed away peacefully on June 18, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. Bobby was a good Christian man by any measure, he loved fishing and hunting, his grandkids and great grandkids, and Springwood Baptist Church, where he was the oldest continuous member. Bobby was born 1937 in Buchanan, went through grade school, joined the Army and was honorably discharged, and retired from the Roanoke Cement Plant as a shift foreman. He is preceded in death by his parents, Edward James and Claudie Seay Aaron; wife, June Allen Spangler Aaron; son; Douglas Gene Aaron; sister, Margaret Aaron Fitzgerald; brothers; Frank, Kenneth, Raymond, and Leo Aaron; son-in-law, Carl Cecil Childress, Jr. and sister-in-law, Nadine Welch Aaron. Survivors include his daughters, Becky Lee Aaron Childress (Brian Bowman) and Dawn Marie Aaron; grandchildren, Jamie Childress (Ashley Ice) , Jessica and Robbie Spangler, Adam Booth (Victoria Branch), Kaitlyn Booth and fiancée, Keaton Willis; great grandchildren, Madison, Hollis, Briana, Sophia, Houston, Carson, Kylah, Adeline and Kyrie; sisters in-law, Peggy, Penny, and Liz Aaron; and numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends on Sunday, June 22, 2025 from 5-7 pm in the Buchanan Chapel of Botetourt Funeral Home, 14920 Lee Highway, Buchanan, Va. 24066. Bobby's funeral service will follow at 7:00 pm, also in the Chapel, with Rev. Brian Clingenpeel and Rev. Mike Anderson officiating. A graveside service will be held Monday, June 23, 2025 at 6:00 pm in the Springwood Baptist Church Cemetery. The family would like to thank Gentiva Hospice and Centerwell Home Health for their care of Bobby.
