Mabel Elice Lambert, 88, of Buchanan, went home to be with her Lord Monday, January 19, 2026. She was preceded in death by her parents, Newton Earl Desler and Hattie Igene Booze Desler, and her husband, Thomas Edward Lambert, Sr.
Many folks knew Elice from her work as Cashier at the IGA in Buchanan and at Walmart in Bonsack. She was a faithful believer in Christ. And many people were blessed by her cooking and baking including her wonderful coconut cakes.
Left to cherish her memory are her sons, Mike (Sheila), and Ricky (Sharon) Thompson; daughter, Kathy (Franklin) Williams; step-daughter, Vicki Stewart; grandchildren, Shawn and Christine Thompson, Chrissy and Mark Deacon, John and Daniel Williams; and step-grandson, Neal Stewart.
Funeral services will be held Friday, January 23, 2026, at 11 am in the Buchanan Chapel of Botetourt Funeral Home with Pastor Darren Meadows officiating. The family will receive friends an hour before the service. Interment will follow in Rockbridge Memorial Gardens. Online condolences may be made at www.botetourtfh.com.
