He was born in Atlanta, Georgia on November 15, 1944, to the late Bubba Smith, and the late Dollie Mae Adams. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Rosa Mae Adams; son, Bobby Joe Adams Jr.; brother, Willie Peterson; and sister,
Jacquelyn Jordan.
Bobby was united in marriage to the love of his life, Mrs. Rosa Mae Adams for fifty-four years. He was employed by A&D Drum Company until he retired. He loved spending time with his family and friends. He took pride in knowing that he could provide for his family, and also being a blessing to others.
He leaves to cherish his memory, daughter, Kathi Wimbish; four grandchildren, Andivius Adams, Wychekh Edwards, Toni Goforth and Jermaine Baty; daughter-in-law, Shemika Jones; twelve great-grandchildren; sisters, Willie Mae Hayes and Catherine Collins; brother, Ted Jones; brother-in-law, James McCoy; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
