Bobby Brown Obituary

Published by Legacy on Jan. 20, 2026.
Bobby Linwood Brown, age 78, passed away peacefully on January 16, 2026, at Chippenham Hospital. He was born on March 9, 1948, in Powhatan, Virginia, to the late Harry and Annie Lucille Brown.

At an early age, Bobby joined Second Antioch Baptist Church. He proudly served in the United States Armed Forces, including three years in Vietnam, stationed in Saigon. He carried his service with quiet dignity and honor.

After military service, Bobby owned businesses specializing in car detailing, restoration, and window tinting. He took great pride in his work and earned several awards through his participation in car shows.

Bobby was known for his impeccable style, calm spirit, and gentle presence. Soft-spoken yet wise, he made others feel at ease and left a lasting impression on all who knew him. To his nieces and nephews, he was simply the coolest uncle ever.

Above all, he was a man of heart-giving, kind, and loving. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his siblings: Wallace, Willie, Earl, Claude, and Mary Brown. Bobby leaves to cherish his memory his sisters, Elsie Walton, Florence Christian, and Lillie Robinson; brother, James Brown; sisters-in-law Shirley Booker-Brown and Shirley Williams-Brown. In addition, he leaves behind his treasured chosen family: Tyrone Wingo, Christopher Daniels, Aisha Adams, Zakiya Coley, Rosa Sunday, Jamilla Adams, and David Johnson; along with a host of relatives and friends.

The service is being rescheduled due to inclement weather. More details to follow.
