JONESBORO - Bobby Gene Brown, age 90, of Jonesboro, passed away on Jan. 28, 2026, at Craighead County Nursing Home. He was born Sept. 27, 1935, on a farm in the Wallace Settlement near Monette, to Roscoe and Mae Langston Brown. As a teenager the family moved to a farm near the Needham community where Bobby worked as a farmer during his early years and later learned the skill of installing ceramic tile flooring establishing Brown's Ceramic Tile Company in Jonesboro. Bobby's hobbies included deer hunting, yard work, and shopping at local flea markets. Bobby was a devoted husband, father and grandfather and was a member of Needham Baptist Church.
Bobby is survived by two daughters, Deborah (Wes) Eddington of Jonesboro, and Donna Crabtree of Pocahontas; four grandchildren, Lee (Morgan) Brown, Ashlee Brown, Lydia (Vernon) Hoffman and Heath (Krystal) Hudspeth, 13 great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Bobby was preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, Betty Jean Stahl and their son, Robert Brown; two brothers, Johnny Brown, Woodrow Brown; and one sister, Ida Mae Bunch.
The family wishes to express appreciation to the staff of Craighead County Nursing Home for their kindness and compassion shown to Bobby during the last 18 months of his life.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, Feb. 7, at 9 a.m. with the funeral following at 10 a.m. at Emerson Funeral Home in Jonesboro, with Bobby's great-grandson, Caleb Hoffman, officiating. Burial will follow at Pine Log Cemetery with Bobby's grandchildren serving as pallbearers. Memorials may be sent to Needham Baptist Church, 571 County Road 744 Jonesboro, Ark., 72401.
