Bobby (Chick) Clyde Chandler, 90, of Robstown, Texas went peacefully in the arms of Jesus surrounded by loved ones on July 16, 2025 in Corpus Christi, TX. He was born May 20, 1935 in Nashville, Arkansas to Ollie and Gladys Chandler.
Bobby, also affectionately known as “Chick” to many and Paw Paw to his loved ones, he was a devout Christian who loved his church, Kings Crossing Church of Christ and meeting new people and telling stories from his past. He cherished his family and thrived on helping others that were in need. Bobby’s heart was as big as Texas!
Bobby graduated from Roy Miller High School in 1953. After graduation he was drafted into the United States Army and served our country for four years. Bobby worked for over 30 years at Coastal (Valero) Refinery where he loved to pull pranks on his friends and co-workers. Once retired, he treasured spending time with his family, his daily ranch visits, gardening, tinkering on things in the garage and eating breakfast at Whataburger as often as he could.
Bobby will be mostly remembered for always willing to lend a listening ear or offering a helping hand to those in need. His kindness and loving nature were evident in all who were fortunate enough to meet him. He will be greatly missed by all who were blessed enough to have known him.
Bobby is survived by his two sons; Michael (Debra)Wood, Randy (Carol) Wood; granddaughters; Carrie (Leslie) Lutz, Kasey (Doug) Woleben, Kelsey (Jorge) Rivera, Lindsay (Dylan) Alexander, and grandsons; Cameron (Kate) Wood, Christopher (Angela) Wood and Austin Wood and 16 great grandchildren. Bobby was preceded in death by his parents Ollie & Gladys Chandler, sister, Betty Sue, and loving wife Barbara Owens Chandler.
A special thanks to Toni & Oscar Limas for the compassionate, loving care over the last two years. Donations can be made to the Kings Crossing Prison Ministries. 3833 S. Staples, Suite S-101 Corpus Christi, TX. 78411.
