Mr. Bobby Vann Coursey, age 71, of
Rome, GA, passed away at his home on Sunday, March 1, 2026.
Bobby was born in
Rome, Georgia, on February 11, 1955, and was the son of the late Command Sergeant Major Wayne Horace Coursey and Betty Jo Coursey (formerly Bobo). In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by his loving wife, Gail "Annease" Coursey.
Bobby was the proud owner of BC Constructions and a dedicated carpenter whose craftsmanship and work ethic spoke for themselves. For decades, he poured his knowledge into his trade, not only building homes and structures, but building people. He took great pride in mentoring young men, teaching them the skill of carpentry, the value of honest work, and the importance of doing a job right the first time. His legacy lives on in every life he impacted, and every project completed with his steady hands.
Beyond his profession, Bobby was a family man at heart. He was a supportive and loving father, a proud grandfather, and a cherished great-grandfather. His family was his greatest accomplishment and deepest joy.
Known for his charismatic personality and quick sense of humor, Bobby was a natural jokester who could lighten any room. He was caring, generous, and passionate about the people and work he loved. Hardworking and dedicated in all that he did, he led by example and left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know him.
He will be deeply missed, forever remembered, and always loved.
Those left behind to cherish Bobby's memory are his daughter, Chasity Coursey Cromer (Josh); his grandchildren, Second Lieutenant Chase Lowe, Allie Lowe, and Emily Lowe; his great-grandchildren, Jasper Lowe, Lyla Lowe, Scarlett Willerson, and Stetson Willerson; his brothers, Alvin Coursey, Robert Coursey (Amy), and Tom Coursey (Ruth); and his long term companion and partner, Paulette Phillips.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 7, 2026, at 3:00 pm at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel, with Rev. Tony Cargle and Chris Sartin officiating, and Second Lieutenant Chase Lowe will deliver the eulogy. Serving as pallbearers will be Tommy Bell, Shane Mize, Chase Phillips, Alvin Coursey, Robert Coursey, Tom Coursey, Dakota Willerson, and Cole Sartin. Serving as an honorary pallbearer will be J.C. "Punk" McCord. Interment will follow the service at Floyd Memory Gardens in
Rome, Georgia.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, March 7, 2026, at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel, from 1:00 pm until service time.
