Bobby Joe Damron

Bobby Joe Damron, age 86, went to be with his Lord and Savior on February 11, 2026. Born on October 7, 1939 to Herbert and Dulcie (Roberts) Damron. Bobby dedicated his life to his wife, children and grandchildren. He was always there for his family and friends. He loved the Lord and was strong in his faith.

On October 30, 1965, Bobby married his wife, Christine (Cook). She preceded him in death on September 8, 2025, and they would have celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary this past October. Bobby and Christine had 4 children, 10 grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren. Bobby and Christine were long time faithful members of Cleveland Baptist Church in Brooklyn, OH and Grace Baptist Church in Brunswick, OH. Bobby was also a veteran of the U.S. Army.

Bobby is survived by his children, Robert (Carla) Damron, Michael (Wendy) Damron, Kelly (Monte) Utlak, and was preceded in death by his son, Steve Damron. Grandchildren: Samantha Utlak, Shannon (Shane) Wuensch, Savannah Utlak, Stephanie (Ned) Ivanov, Melissa (Mike) Purtle, Ashland Damron, Lauren Damron, Reese Damron, Justin (Miranda) Damron and Austin Damron. Great-grandfather to Belle, Noah, Alec, Owen, Beckham, Saige, Khloe, Nora, Hayden and Theo. Bobby is also survived by his siblings, Scott (the late Shelby Jean), Billy (Belinda) and Bernice and was preceded in death by his siblings, Milford (Mary Pearl), Herb (Sylvia), Clifford, Fred (Jean), Clara (Harry), Brunie, and Anna Rae; survived by brother-in-law, Donald, sister-in-law Debbie and preceded in death by brother-in-law, David. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held from 4-8 pm, Thursday, February 26, 2026, at Waite Funeral Home, 3300 Center Rd., Brunswick. Funeral services will be held at 10 am, Friday, February 27, at the funeral home with his nephew, Pastor Steve Damron officiating. Interment will take place at Eastlawn Memory Gardens, Brunswick.
