Mr. Bobby Wake Doub, 90, passed away on Friday, January 12, 2024, at his home surrounded by his family. He was born on October 23, 1933, in Forsyth Co., the son of the late Efird Wake Doub and Maxine Long Doub. Bobby was a member of Elm Grove Church and a member of Old Richmond Volunteer Fire Department and Rescue Squad, where he served as a past assistant chief and secretary. All Bobby ever wanted was to be a farmer and help his community, friends and neighbors. He raised corn, soybeans, wheat, chickens and cattle. Bobby also raised a garden big enough for his entire community. He loved everything about the farm but more importantly he loved his family, especially his only granddaughter. When not working on the farm, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, watching sports and racing on television and listening to his fire radio. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Mike Doub and Dale Doub; and a sister, Doris D. Wilcox. Bobby is survived by his strong, devoted and loving wife of 66 years, Nancy Shamel Doub; two daughters, Jane Doub and Kathy Doub; a son, Wake Doub (Elizabeth) and his granddaughter, Hayden Elizabeth Doub. He is also survived by a sister-in-law, Nancy F. Doub and many nieces, nephews and extended family. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Monday, January 15, 2024, at Elm Grove Church with Pastor Eddie Evans and Pastor Woody Merritt officiating. Burial with Military Rites will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00 prior to the service at Elm Grove Church. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to all of the community, his caregivers, neighbors and friends for all of the help and acts of kindness extended to our family. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Old Richmond Volunteer Fire Department or Trellis Supportive Care.
