Bobby Dowdy Obituary
Bobby L. Dowdy, 44, of Lee County, GA, died May 13, 2024 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital. Graveside funeral services will be held Thursday at 11:00 am at Leesburg Cemetery. Mr. John Brenner will officiate.
Bobby was born in Albany, GA on June 10, 1979 and moved with his family to Lee County, GA in 1990. As a youth, he played basketball, baseball and football. Bobby lettered in Cross Country at Lee County High School and graduated in 1998. He was a member of The Refuge Church and was employed with Jantz Construction Company. He enjoyed deer hunting, being with his children, collecting coins and walking the woods searching for Indian artifacts.
Survivors include his wife, Danielle Eppley Dowdy of Lee County, 3 children, Hunter Austin Dowdy and Ty Griffin Dowdy of Newnan, GA and Haddock Dowdy of Lee County, GA, his parents, Terry & Cheryl Dowdy, and his grandparents, Bobby and Augusta Roberts, his siblings, Sherry (Eric) Tucker and Jason (April) Dowdy all of Lee County, GA and his nieces and nephews, Pate Tucker, Maggie Tucker, Brooks Dowdy, Paxton Eppley and London Eppley.
The family will receive friends Wednesday from 5:00 until 7:00 pm at Mathews Funeral Home.
