Bobby Harrell Fields

Bobby Harrell Fields, 86, passed away peacefully on Monday, February 2, 2026, at UNC Rex Healthcare in Raleigh. Bobby was born in Wayne County on September 11, 1939, to the late William Wright Fields and Zilphia Gurley Fields. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Vernon Fields and Howard Fields; and sisters, Mildred Edgerton, Helen McClenny and Hilda Sjosrom.

Bobby proudly served his country in the United States Army. Following his military service, he devoted many years of dedicated work to Civil Service at Seymour Johnson Air Force Base in Goldsboro, from which he retired. He attended Rosewood First Baptist Church with his family for many years.

Graveside services will be held at 12:00 noon on Friday, February 6, 2026, at the Eastern Carolina State Veterans Cemetery, with Rev. Vernon Braswell officiating.

Bobby is survived by his loving wife, Carol Corrieri Fields; his children, Michael Fields and wife Jamie, Bobbi Lynne Wise and husband Matthew, Shari Vasquez, and Lori Vasquez; step daughter, Lisa Wilson, and step son, Kevin Wilson and wife Sony; and his cherished grandchildren, Mason Weeks, Velena Wise, Elise Wise, Alex Vanmeir, Aaron Venhuizen, Nathan Wilson, and Ava Wilson.
