Bobby Fitzpatrick-Bey

Bobby Fitzpatrick-Bey, age 85, passed away peacefully on November 3, 2024, in his hometown of Canton, GA. Born on February 27, 1939, also in Canton, Bobby was the example of friendliness, with an ever-present smile and an open heart.
A proud veteran, Bobby served his country in the U.S. Navy, where his love for jazz music was only matched by his passion for flying. Bobby was a self-employed appliance repairman, known for his dedication and hard work. A communicator at his core, Bobby loved engaging with people from all walks of life.
Beyond his professional endeavors, his role as Grand Sheik in the Moorish Science Temple spoke to his deep spiritual connections and commitment to community. Bobby will be fondly remembered for the joy he brought to his encounters and his rich legacy of kindness and sincerity. He has left an indelible mark on the hearts of those he touched.
Bobby was preceded in death by his parents, Annie Kate and Lorenza Tanner and brothers, James L. Tanner and Jackie Tanner.
He is survived by his sons, Gino Fitzpatrick (Benjie Robinson) and Michael Fitzpatrick; grandchild, Peyton Fitzpatrick; brothers, Franklin Fitzpatrick and Leonard Tanner (Shirley); former wife and mother to their sons, Bettye Fitzpatrick; as well as nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.
Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, November 22, 2024 at Cherokee Memorial Park Cemetery in Canton.
