Bobby Joe Fraley, a beloved family man and accomplished carpenter, passed away on August 3, 2025, at his home in Shepherdsville, Kentucky, surrounded by his loving family. Born on September 25, 1958, in Bardstown, Kentucky, Bobby lived a life full of passion, dedication, and an unwavering love for those around him.
As the owner and operator of his own carpentry business, Bobby exemplified the spirit of hard work and craftsmanship. His talents in woodworking not only provided for his family but also left a lasting imprint on the homes and lives he touched. His craftsmanship was matched only by his devotion to his family, particularly during cherished beach vacations where laughter and joy filled the air.
Bobby was much more than his profession; he was an avid fan of the University of Louisville, known for his enthusiasm and support for his team. Additionally, he found solace and pleasure in music, enjoying playing the guitar and mastering every instrument he could. His love for music brought happiness not only to him but also to those who had the privilege of experiencing his performances.
He was married to his devoted wife, Cheryl, for over 46 years, a union marked by mutual respect and deep affection. Together, they raised their two children, Travis Fraley, who, along with his wife Nikole, resides in Shepherdsville, and Amanda Murdock, who, along with her husband John, calls Mount Washington home. Bobby took immense pride in being a grandfather to Trevor, Jaxon, Madelyn, and Ryan, cherishing every moment spent with them.
Bobby is preceded in death by his father, Bill Fraley; mother, Kathleen McCubbins; and siblings Donald, Brenda, Ronnie, and Larry Fraley. The memories he leaves behind will be cherished forever by his surviving family members, including his loving wife, children, grandchildren, and siblings Gary, Billie, and Diane.
A Celebration of Life will be held in his honor on August 6, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Maraman Billings Funeral Home, located at 605 South Preston Hwy, Shepherdsville, KY 40165. Friends and family are invited to come together to celebrate the remarkable life of Bobby Joe Fraley, sharing stories and reflecting on the joyous moments that defined him.
