Bobby Hearn

Robert L. "Bobby" Hearn, 86, of Chickamauga, Georgia, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, December 27, 2025. He was born in Chattanooga, Tennessee, on July 24, 1939.

Bobby was a graduate of Chattanooga Valley High School and retired from ABF Trucking after 30 years of dedicated service. He attended Elizabeth Lee Methodist Church and was a man of strong faith and deep love for his family.

In his leisure time, Bobby enjoyed fishing, gardening, bee keeping, quail hunting, and spending time on Weiss Lake. He especially treasured time spent with his family. He was an avid Alabama Crimson Tide fan and was a member of the Teamsters Union, Chattanooga Valley Boosters Club, and the Walker County Beekeepers Association.

Bobby was preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Elsie Hearn; his son, Kim Thompson; and his brother, Ted Hearn.

Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife of sixty-four years, Joan Hurley Hearn; daughters, Kay (William) Burns and Kathi (Todd) Corvin; brother, Eddie (Cecilia) Hearn; grandson, Ethan Thompson; great grandson, Kylor Thompson daughter-in-law, Michelle Thompson; brother-in-law, Guy (Sharon) Hurley; sister-in-law, Nancy Jolley; along with several nieces, nephews, other extended family members, and many close friends.

The family will receive friends at the South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home and Crematory on Tuesday, December 30, 2025, from 4:00–8:00 PM and again on Wednesday from 9:00 AM until the funeral hour. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, December 31, 2025, in the funeral home chapel, with Minister Zach Fitzpatrick officiating. Interment will follow at Chickamauga City Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Elizabeth lee Methodist Church General Fund in Bobby's honor at 139 Cove Road Chickamauga, Georgia 30707.
