Bobby Lee Jones, age 62, of Gasburg, VA, passed away Friday, April 4, 2025 at his home surrounded by loved ones.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Macon and Jenny Mae Jones, and a brother, Clarence Jones.
Bobby was a very simple man with a strong Christian faith. He worked hard his entire life, most recently for Real Tree Logging. He loved to hunt and fish. In the Spring, you might find him fishing at any bridge around Lake Gaston. He was a diehard Dallas Cowboys fan. He was also a NASCAR fan as long as a Ford was winning. He enjoyed weekend fun with his family which often included a campfire and listening to country music.
Bobby is survived by his wife of 40 years, Kathy Edwards “Shug” Jones; his beloved fur babies, Dakota, Opie, and Rusty; his bonus kids, Brandi Roberts and Dillon Clary; his siblings, Gloria Harris (Bobby), Patricia Wilson, Geraldine Downing (Chuck), Cecle Mae, Kenneth Jones, and Rebecca Matthews, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 8, 2025 at Williams Funeral Home in Lawrenceville, VA. Interment will follow at the Wright Family Cemetery in Gasburg, VA. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Brunswick County Cancer Association, P.O. Box 522, Lawrenceville, VA 23868.
