COOKEVILLE CHAPEL - Bobby (Bob) Owen Kelsey age 76 of Cookeville Tn. Passed away at Cookeville Regional Medical Center on Thursday July 31, 2025 with loved ones surrounding him. Bob was born on April 03, 1949 in Sparta, TN to his parents Otis and Jewell Bumbalough Kelsey, who proceeded him in death.
Bob was a loving son, brother, husband, father and Papa to his family. He was an admired friend, umpire, and mentor to many in his community. Leaving a legacy of warm memories and enduring kindness to many.
His legacy is carried on by his loving wife of 32 years, Jennifer Gibson Kelsey, his daughter and son in law Josh and Jodi Lee, and son and daughter in law Clay and Whitney Kelsey. and his adored grandchildren, Aleighia, Alaynia and Micah Lee.
Bob was a Army vet and served in Vietnam with may accolades included a purple heart. He spent the remaining of his career as a Nurse and Drug and Alcohol counselor where he touch and helped many people thru his mentoring and counseling. He enjoyed the many years of umpiring the youth t-ball and coaches pitch leagues. He loved Bowling and his greatest accomplishments were bowling a 300 and a 299 game. He was a avid sports supporter. He loved watching his favorite teams the Atlanta Braves, Tennessee Vols and the Titans. He always cheered on his 2 kids and other family member as they participated in varies sports. He had a sense of humor and a kind demeanor that will be missed along with the many forehead kisses that he would greet his friends and family with. He will be dearly missed!
A Celebration of life will be held Saturday, August 9, 2025 at 1:00 pm at Friendship Church located at 2990 Mine Lick Creek Rd. Cookeville Tn. Family will receive friends and family from 11:00 until time of service.
