Bobby Lewis Lightner

Mr. Bobby "B.L. Lightner was born to Mr. Asia Lightner and Mrs. Mennie Lee (Faulk) Lightner on October 16, 1958. He was one of ten children. He accepted Christ at an early age and joined St Louis Baptist Church.

He was born into a family who encouraged education. He graduated from Clio High School in 1977. During his time in school, he was an exceptional athlete. He lettered and won trophies in tennis, football, and basketball. His love for learning lead him to Alabama A&M University in Huntsville, Alabama. While attending Alabama A&M University he was awarded a four year Tennis Scholarship. There he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science. His educational success blessed him to work in Management and Logistics at the Learning and Resource Center's on Redstone Arsenal for many years. He earned many awards for being an exceptional employee. He left Huntsville, Alabama to care for his sick father. After his father passed away, he was employed by Walmart Distribution Center in Brundidge, Alabama. At Walmart he also continued to earn many more outstanding employee awards, and recognitions.

Bobby loved his family. He was a loving son, brother, uncle and friend. He loved life and enjoyed his many friends and cousins. He created a educational game for his nieces and nephews called, "The Money Game". This game helped encourage and challenge their skills and speed in learning math, science, spelling, and geography. This game generated not only, fun and laughter while playing, but it also was a way for all of them to earn money to spend during school.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother: Joseph Lightner.

Bobby (BL) Lightner is survived by his eight siblings: Malvia (Jerry) Baxter of Clio, Alabama, Isiah (Connie) Lightner, Stone Mountain, Georgia, Walter Ray (Anfernette) Lightner of Doster, Alabama, Norma (Randy) Govan of Clio, Alabama, Inez (Tony) Moses of Lithonia, Georgia, Christine (Terry) Noble of Tyrone, Georgia, Douglas Lightner of Stone Mountain, Georgia, Loretta (Eric) Mitchell of Doster, Alabama; and a host of nieces, nephews, many cousins and friends.
