Bobby Gene Martin, age 87 of Dandridge TN is now in the loving arms of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He passed peacefully on the afternoon of February 21, 2026. Bob is preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Kay Russell Martin; his parents, Eugene and Irene Martin; sister, Ann Stallings and brother, Bill Martin. He is survived by his daughters, Sandi Dennis and Gina (Bryan) Averett: grandchildren Ellie Averett, Wesley (Katie Jane) Averett, Chloe Averett, Jayden Dennis and Lilli Dennis along with several nieces and nephews and close cousins. Bob was born in Strawberry Plains, TN on March 3, 1938, and graduated from Rush Strong High School. He served in the United States Army and then worked for several year in the mines. Bob spent 35 years until retirement selling drilling equipment throughout the southeast. Once he retired, he always stayed very active and enjoyed time on the family farm in New Market riding the tractor, working in the garden and in the barns, and mowing. Bob also loved playing golf with his wife, Kay, his family, and his buddies. He and Kay enjoyed going to their Florida home in the winter many years for the warm weather and daily golf. Bob was very active in his church at First Baptist Dandridge where he especially loved singing in the choir for many years. He also always had a love of cars and trucks as a teenager starting with his first 63 ½ Ford and continued this hobby collecting and trading antique cars, restoring and tinkering with them into his 80’s. Although Bob loved many hobbies, his number one love and devotion was to his ‘sweetheart’ Kay, his family and his grandchildren. Please join us for receiving of friends and family time on Thursday evening, February 26th from 5-7pm and funeral service immediately following at 7pm at First Baptist Church in Dandridge with Dr. Justin Terrell and Dr. Bob Brown officiating. A graveside service will be held at 11am on Friday, February 27th at McCampbell’s Chapel Cemetery in New Market.
