Bobby Matthew Obituary
Bobby J. Matthew, 90, passed away on July 26, 2024. Bob was born in Fort Smith, Arkansas to Edwin and Naydeane Hensley Matthew.. He enlisted in the Army in 1952 and met his future wife, Sieglinde, while stationed in Germany. Bob served two tours of duty in Vietnam, was highly decorated, and rose to the rank of Master Sergeant before retiring from the Army in 1978. He settled in St. Charles County and worked at Missouri Baptist Hospital and Lindenwood University for a number of years. When he retired for good he spent his time bowling, watching Cardinal baseball and B westerns, and most of all, enjoying his family.
Bob is survived by his daughter, Janet (Jim) Desloge of St. Charles, his son, Mike (Donni) Matthew of Tavira, Portugal, his granddaughters, Devon (Rob Thomas) Jones of Vila Nova de Gaia, Portugal, Katrina Jones of Ballwin, nieces, and nephews. The family would like to thank BJC Hospice, Endina, Chris, Wanda, Mona, Danny, and all the staff at Cedarhurst-Saint Charles for the wonderful care they provided. Visitation Wednesday, Aug. 7, 2024 4-7p.m. at Paul Funeral Home, 240 N. Kingshighway, St. Charles. 63301
Private Burial at a later date at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery.
