PIONEER, LA - Bobby Gene Nicholson, age 95, passed into eternal life on Friday, February 13, 2026, at his home in Pioneer, Louisiana.

A visitation for family and friends will be held on Wednesday, February 18, 2026, from 2:00 to 3:30 P.M. at the Cox Funeral Home: 200 E. Noble St., Oak Grove, Louisiana.

Graveside funeral services will be at the Forest Cemetery. Reverend Gary Wolfe will officiate.

Services are under the direction of Cox Funeral Home of Oak Grove.

Bobby was born on January 20, 1931, in Arcadia, Louisiana, to Lamar and Bertha Nicholson.

He was preceded in death by his son, Steve Nicholson; parents, Lamar and Bertha Nicholson; and sister, Ann Nicholson Cupid.

He is survived by his high school sweetheart and beloved wife of 76 years, Sarah Lou Emily Nicholson (Lemmie); sons Rickey (wife Edy) of Pioneer; Harry (wife Teresia) of Ruston; Mike (wife Theresa) of Forest; daughter Sherri White(Fen Collinsworth) of Ruston; and daughter-in-law Belynda of Oak Grove.

Bobby, known affectionately as Daddy Bob, had 13 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren; they all have cherished memories of him.

He will be remembered for his great love for his family and church. He is also survived by extended family members and numerous friends and neighbors whose lives he touched.

Mr. Nicholson, a local farmer, was a member of Pioneer Baptist Church and loved crafting special items in his woodshop.

Pallbearers will be Ben Nicholson, Kyle White, Kane White, Rusty Nicholson, Bradley Nicholson, Logan Nicholson, and Rhett Herrington.

The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to Crossroads Hospice for their compassionate care and support.
