Bobby Doyle Owens

Bobby Doyle Owens, 86, of Talladega, Alabama, passed away in his home on September 25, 2025, surrounded by his family. He battled Dementia for the last eight years. He was born in Talladega, Alabama on November 12, 1938, the son of the late William and Edith Wells Owens.

Bobby retired from the United States Postal Service with 27 years of government service. He was drafted in 1957 by the United States Army as part of the ready reserve. Bobby enjoyed sports, especially basketball and football. He loved his grandchildren and enjoyed spending time with them as much as possible. Bobby was a faithful member of Ridgeview Baptist Church until his sickness caused him to be bedridden.

Bobby is survived by his devoted wife, Norma Cook Owens and three sons, Keith Owens (Connie), Jay Owens (Rachael), and Barry Owens (Lori). He is also survived by ten grandchildren, Chris Owens (Courtney), Kent Owens (Emily), Jeremy Owens (Kayla), Aaron Owens, Kerith Elrod (Tim), Seth Owens (Lindsey), Hollie Bowden (Hunter), Caitlin Johnson (Landon), Jeremy Joiner (Jerri), Justin Joiner (Denise), sixteen great- grandchildren, and three of his nine brothers and sisters, Alma Jean Rearden, Patsy Colquitt, and Kenneth Owens.

He is preceded in death by siblings, Alvin Owens, Vera Milstead, Lawrence Owens, Nola Wyatt, Jimmy Owens and Brenda Ford.

A funeral ceremony will be held in his honor at Usrey Funeral Home of Talladega on Saturday, September 27, 2025, at 1:00 P.M. with Chaplain Greg Tankersly officiating. His family will receive friends at the funeral home for one hour prior to the service. Entombment will follow directly after the service at Pine Hill Memorial Park Mausoleum.

Pallbearers will be Chris Owens, Kent Owens, Jeremy Owens, Aaron Owens, Seth Owens, and Jon Kent Owens.
