Bobby Joe Parker, affectionately referred to as "Chick', passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 23, 2025 at his residence in Huguley, AL after a long battle with COPD.

Mr. Parker was born on March 6, 1939 in Wedowee, Alabama to the late Joe Parker and Annie Mae Fetner.

He was preceded in death by his daughter Kim Parker; brother, Jimmy Parker; sisters, Joyce Fuller and Betty Harmon; and other extended family members.

Mr. Parker was a proud employee of West Point Stevens and retired as a supervisor after 47 years of service. He loved Alabama football, Nascar, Gunsmoke, and watching his hummingbirds. He thoroughly enjoyed being outside working in his yard or a new building project. But most of all he loved his two great granddaughters Emily and Olivia. They were the light of his life, and he never missed an opportunity to brag about them.

He is survived by his granddaughter Holly (Justin) Hanners; great granddaughters Emily and Olivia Hanners; sister Helen King; and a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends.

A memorial service will be held Saturday December 6th, 2025 at 2:00 pm ET at Lanett Church of the Nazarene. The Rev Ben Hewitt officiating. Mr. Parker's family will be receiving friends at the Lanett Church of the Nazarene at 1:30 pm ET prior to the service. Graveside services will be held privately at a later date.

Mr. Parker's granddaughter would like to extend her sincere appreciation to Roger's Bar B Que and Merl's Diner. You didn't just serve him food, you treated him like family, and we are forever grateful for the love that was shown to him. We would also like to thank the amazing staff at Chattahoochee Hospice for the care and support given to Mr. Parker.
