Bobby Lane Ramey

Mr. Bobby Lane Ramey, age 70 of Lowgap, passed away Friday January 10, 2025, at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson, NC. He was born May 14, 1954, in Alleghany County to the late Prather and Pauline Pennington Ramey. He retired from Hanes Brands after 45 years of dedicated service. Mr. Ramey loved to do woodworking, go hiking, gardening, kayaking, and riding his motorcycle. He was a very friendly man who was always willing to help others in their time of need. Left to cherish his memory are his daughter and son-in-law, Kyra Lynn Ramey-Hernandez and Javier; two grandsons, Aiden Lane Jester and Joshua Hernandez; a grandson on the way due in February 2025, Uriah Hernandez-Ramey; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Deborah and Michael Souther, and Frances and Michael Hawks; a brother and sister-in-law, John Mark and Cathy Ramey; and several other family and friends. In addition to his parents, Mr. Ramey was preceded in death by his wife of 38 years, Barbara Crouse Ramey. Funeral services will be held Wednesday January 15, 2025, at 2:00pm at Mountain View Baptist Church with Rev. Clyde Stewart officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday night January 14, 2025, from 6:00 – 8:00pm at the church.
